Kitchen Cabinet doors
I have this island that the previous owners built that drives me nuts! I rarely use it for storage because I always felt it needed doors. Last weekend, I decided to make some.
These wood panels were left over from a desk the previous owners left. They were a little bigger than I needed but that is easily remedied. I measured the distance edge to edge of the opening on the island and split it in two. Height was about 30″
I then cut the wood panels to size and sanded down the edges a ton
I painted the panels white using melamine. I then added mouldings to the outsides and filled in any gaps with wood filler. Normally I would use white wood filler but I was trying to get rid of what I had in the cupboard. The walnut would cover well with melamine anyway
After a final sand, paint, and installing some knobs, my doors are complete!
