Refurbished light
I can never seem to find exactly what I want in store when it comes to light fixtures. When I moved into my house, the previous owners had left some old school light fixtures for me :)
I decided instead of continuing to look for the perfect fixture, I would use these old fixtures and create something new and fabulous! See below for transformations
BEFORE: Fairly standard gold 6 light fixture. I removed it from the ceiling (after turning the electricity off) and roughed up the metal using a coarse sand paper. Using the green paint tape, I taped off the electrical sockets so that paint would not go inside. I then spray painted the fixture using a matte spray paint for metals
As this was drying (overnight) I went into my yard and cut off about 15 lean, twisted willow branches. I stripped all the leaves and laid them out on newspaper and sprayed them using the matte spray paint.
Once everything had dried, I weaved the now white willow branches into the light fixtures to create somewhat of a nest. I absolutley love the new piece and it cost under $10 to completely refresh!
