I noticed I had a bunch of branches from my lilac tree that were sitting on top of the roof. So, I cut them back. Branches on roofs only allow moisture to sit so it was necessary to remove them. <\/span><\/span> I was REALLY happy to be done the nasty part of the job…and now the fun begins! Looking back, i really should not have lined them up so perfectly. I should have alternated the lines more. Regardless, now the roof wont leak! Last year I took a look at the roof and it was a disaster. I knew it was time to replace the shingles as I couldnt even touch them without them crumbling. You should probably replace shingles before they get to this <\/a>After removing the old shingles, I found the last 10 inches of the plywood had rotted out. Obviously nothing is going to secure well to rotted wood, so I had to cut out the rotted plywood and replace it. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/a>After I had replaced the rotten wood, I let it sit in the sun for a couple days to completely dry out.
